Joel and I got married just south of Kearney, NE at the cutest little farmhouse B&B on September 3, 2016 surrounded by the love and support of 150 friends and family members.  I couldn't have imagined a more perfect and relaxing morning with my girls, a breathtaking walk down the aisle, and the best dance party ever.  One of the highlights of the day, by far, was the Maid of Honor speech that my Sissy, Sara, performed in an incredible rendition of Vanilla Ice's classic 1990 hit, Ice Ice Baby.  It was one of the best surprises I've ever been blessed with and it was truly priceless hearing the whole crowd chant Buysse Buysse Baby over and over.  It's moments like this one that turn in to the best memories.

I'm on the wagon ... the baby wagon!

We are ecstatic to announce that Baby Buysse will make us a family of 3 in October 2018!  While we are happy to finally spill the baby beans, it's been fun the last few months imagining how our lives are about to change and what kind of parents we will be.  We can't help but think how will we teach our child right from wrong, how to respect others, how to always strive to be their best, and how to be kind and compassionate.  The one thing Joel and I are confident in, however, is that we are strong together and we will face all of these tough decisions as a team.  I got home from work on January 29, 2018 knowing in the back of my mind that I was 4 days late and wondering if I should take a pregnancy test.  I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment again so I tinkered in my craft room for awhile.  Maybe I don't watch the news enough or read enough articles (mostly because I don't know what to believe anymore) but I feel like fertility has been such ...

Baby Buysse's First Trimester

First Trimester Symptom Checklist: 1.  Vomiting and Nausea - I couldn't find an exact statistic on how many women experience this during their first trimester ... 50%, 75%, 85%, 90%, nearly all ... except me.  I'm extremely lucky to have not been sick or nauseous at all. 2.  Frequent Urination - Check! Every night between 12-2am I was up.  Thankfully I was able to go right back to sleep. 3.  Fatigue/Lack of Energy - I rarely felt like I could fall asleep sitting at my desk but I did start getting ready for bed around 8pm  versus 10pm.  My energy level was WAY down and I lacked motivation to do much of anything so there were several lazy weekends that were perfect for a good Netflix binge or getting in to a new book. 4.  Sore/Growing Boobs -  This was no joke, seriously.   Before I took a positive test, this was my first sign that something was a little off.  I endured 2 solid months of incredibly sore boobs and lik...
