Boy or Girl?

My internet search for gender prediction tests has been entertaining.  Many of these are old wives tales with little to no scientific evidence to back them up but they've been fun to try out.  I've decided to skip peeing in to a cup of Drano to see if the color changes but here is what we've come up with as we approach our upcoming anatomy ultrasound ...

Old Wives Tale #1:  Shape of Belly
If you are carrying high with a big round belly with weight distributed in the hips/butt, you're having a girl.  If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks straight out, it's a boy.  I haven't noticed any weight gain in my hips or bum and my belly is definitely just sticking straight out. 
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #2:  Baby's Heartbeat
Over 140bpm indicates a girl while under 140bpm indicates a boy.  Our midwife basically said this was BS but regardless, our first ultrasound measured 155bpm and six weeks later at our next checkup we were at 136bpm.
Prediction:  INCONCLUSIVE

Old Wives Tale #3:  Morning Sickness
A smooth first trimester with no sickness means a baby boy is on board.  Morning sickness and nausea means a girl.  Nope, not even a little bit.
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #4:  Cravings 
Some believe boys cause salty cravings and girls cause sweet cravings.  Gimme all the candy, fruit, cheesecake, and FroYo!
Prediction:  GIRL

Old Wives Tale #5:  Acne
If your face looks like you're 13 again, it's a girl because she is stealing your beauty.  I've never had major skin problems but so far it's been clear with zero acne.
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #6:  Leg Hair
An increase in leg hair could be caused by a surge in testosterone from a boy.  No noticeable change, thankfully!  
Prediction:  GIRL

Old Wives Tale #7:  Leg Size
If your legs get bigger, you're having a boy.  If your legs stay in shape and lean, it's a girl.  This one was interesting because I've definitely noticed my already huge calves have gotten larger and I've lost what little tone I may have had.  
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #8:  Feet
If your feet are colder than before you were pregnant, you may be having a boy.  If your feet have stayed the same, you're having a girl.  No change.
Prediction:  GIRL

Old Wives Tale #9:  Dad's Weight Gain
If the daddy-to-be gains weight while you are pregnant, it's a girl.  No change.
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #10:  Nose
Some say boys cause the mother's nose to change/grow in size and shape.  Thankfully I still don't have the infamous George-family schnoz!  
Prediction:  GIRL

Old Wives Tale #11:  Chinese Calendar
This chart claims to have an accuracy rate of over 90%.  It is based on how old the mother is at conception and the month she conceived.
Prediction:  BOY

Old Wives Tale #12:  Mayan Calendar  
This one is based on my age and the year of conception - both numbers are even.
Prediction:  GIRL

Old Wives Tale #13:  Dreams of Baby
Whatever gender appears in your dreams, you will have the opposite.  I typically have very vivid dreams that have accurately predicted pregnancies and genders for close friends.  A family member had a dream about our baby girl and a friend had a dream about us and a baby boy before I even told her I was expecting.  All I recall so far for myself is a very scary dream about being in a spaceship while one of the windows blew out.  Tell me what that means!
Prediction:  INCONCLUSIVE

And finally, my favorite one...

Old Wives Tale #14:  Moodiness
If you find yourself extra moody, you're having a girl due to all those extra girl hormones.  If your pregnancy has made you happy and full of joy, you're having a boy because there's a little penis inside you.  This one almost made me pee my pants I laughed so hard!
Prediction:  BOY

Total BOY:  7
Total GIRL:  5
Total INCONCLUSIVE:  2

Mother's intuition is said to be about 70% accurate.  I'll save this one for the big reveal :)
